1. ADGENDA from April: Behavior Procedures

2. Manni was elected as the new rep from the highschool for SIT

3. Dusty and others have questions about food prep and classroom procedures. Larry clarified that no food utensils should be washed in classroom sinks; all should go through the dishwasher.

4. Welcome to Manni and Goodbye to Jackie, SIT members

5. Elana shared new forms for isolation/time-out/seclusion. Group reviewed new Seclusion paper work

-One copy of each form goes to Larry and Susan Swan

-Larry wants all staff to address what constitutes a restraint, and to be trained on forms

-The SIT team should send a question to Susan Swan about consolidating the seclusion and CPI restrain forms.

-Donna Garvin asked about PEP guidelines for inclusion in the PEP program, Larry added that all the criteria are subjective. In general, our students are considered severely and profoundly disabled, or multiply disabled. PEP is not a behavior

-Larry added that there needs to be more consistency between sites are sharing behavior strategies.

Larry shared “stay put” laws and current thinking on student safety: If a student is putting themselves and others in danger, Larry and the IEP team will consider suspension (10 calendar days), suspension lengths (up to 45 days), SRO involvement, IEP meetings for reduced day, or homebound on a student-by-student basis. Documentation is essential.

6. We need to recruit parents before next school year: Larry could send a call notice.

7. MarryRose Slaughter wanted to ask about teachers and teacher assistants to that are first-year teachers being included in the TOY and TAOY. The team considered the fact that each group only votes for their own nominee.

8. Next meeting: We will nominate parents for the team, Review the first goal, and decide if it was met, Review second goal and discuss progress.
